With the summer window approaching and Sunderland safe from relegation with an outside shot at Europe, attention has turned to reinforcements. According to Sunderland Echo, X’s AI chatbot Grok was asked to identify seven European options who could strengthen Regis Le Bris’s side.
Le Bris has fashioned one of the Premier League’s stingiest backlines, yet extra depth at the back and, crucially, more reliable goals would aid the next step. Last summer’s continental arrivals, Noah Sadiki, Robin Roefs, Nordi Mukiele, Brian Brobbey and Granit Xhaka, underline that strategy.
Up front, Strasbourg’s Joaquin Panichelli, 23, has 16 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games and, at 1.90m, offers a focal point, with a deal running to 2030. AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott, 24, has 14 goals and four assists in 23 Eredivisie matches and can operate across the front line.
In midfield, Como’s Nico Paz, 21, has produced 10 goals and six assists in 29 Serie A appearances, bringing vision and dribbling from central or wide areas.
On the flanks and between lines, Ajax winger Mika Godts, 20, has 14 goals and nine assists in 26 league outings, adding pace and end product. Braga’s Rodrigo Zalazar, 26, has 15 league goals plus assists, coupling energy with long-range shooting and defensive work.
At the back, Toulouse centre-half Charlie Cresswell, 23, has impressed as a regular, strong in the air and composed in possession with leadership and progressive passing. Utrecht left-back Souffian El Karouani, 25, offers overlaps, chance creation and a sound defensive balance, with set-piece and counter-attacking value.
Collectively, these profiles fit Sunderland’s young, dynamic recruitment model and could raise both depth and quality for a sustained push.
