Sevilla have stepped away from a deal for Petar Ratkov, leaving Lazio facing a potential double blow as the Spaniards target Conrad Harder instead.

According to The Laziali, Sevilla have pivoted to Harder, the 22-year-old Dane expected to leave RB Leipzig before the window shuts, ending their interest in Ratkov. That scenario would deny Lazio the chance to offload the Serbian and reinvest in a bid for Harder.

Ratkov, 22, has struggled for minutes since arriving in January. He was used sparingly by Maurizio Sarri and his outlook has not improved under Gennaro Gattuso, despite a positive pre-season.

Gattuso has judged the Serbian a poor fit for his tactics, favouring Boulaye Dia. Following Andrea Pinamonti’s arrival, Ratkov has become surplus to requirements.

Levante now lead the race for Ratkov, ahead of Sevilla and Toulouse, so a move to Spain remains possible. Lazio paid €13 million just over seven months ago, and would seek a similar fee. He has yet to score a competitive goal for the Aquile.
