Sevilla face two home battles in Nervión to stave off relegation

Sevilla enter a make-or-break spell at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, with consecutive home games against Real Sociedad and Espanyol set to shape a survival bid in a ground that no longer feels like a fortress.

They have not managed successive home wins this season and must still host Real Madrid in the penultimate round, a visit that might mean little for the visitors, with stars focused on the next World Cup, AS notes.

Home form is poor, just five wins in Nervión, all in LaLiga, plus four draws and seven defeats. Sevilla beat a depleted Atlético Madrid last time there and now want a cauldron for Real Sociedad and Espanyol.

To pack the stands, the club has cut prices for season-ticket holders and socios rojos, with seats from 15 euros in Gol Norte and Sur, 25 and 35 in Fondo Alto and Bajo, and 45 and 55 in Preferencia Alta and Baja.

Fragility at home underpins three seasons flirting with relegation. Last term brought six home wins, six draws and seven losses, the previous one worse with six wins, five draws and eight defeats. In 23-24 they failed to win at home in the Champions League and did not play a Copa del Rey tie there.

The ultras group Biris Norte has urged supporters to fill the ground, sing themselves hoarse and treat the next two fixtures as battles, while attacking the board. Their message is defiance, even if a debacle comes, and belief that the stands can lift the side.
