Iheanacho is unlikely to make a move to Elland Road during this window, according to a recent update.
Leeds United are unlikely to sign Sevilla forward Kelechi Iheanacho during the January transfer window, despite being linked with a move for the Nigerian.
According to Leeds Live, the Whites aren't even likely to try and move for the forward, who previously plied his trade at Leicester City.
Leeds may be weighing up an addition in their striker department during the January window, having sanctioned a loan move for Joe Gelhardt to Hull City.
Gelhardt may not have played very often this season, but with Patrick Bamford currently on the sidelines, Daniel Farke may need to address this area before the current window closes.
Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph are his current options up top, and with the latter still developing, there's a risk that the West Yorkshire side may not have enough goals in their team to secure a Premier League return at the second time of asking.
Piroe may have a decent goalscoring record at this level, and others can contribute, including Largie Ramazani and Willy Gnonto, but the recruitment of more attacking firepower before the January window closes could end up making the difference at the end of the season.
One player the Whites don't look set to move for during this window is Iheanacho.
This is according to Leeds Live, who believe a switch to Elland Road for the forward is "highly unlikely" at this stage, even though Leeds know he could leave Sevilla.
The player has only been with his current side since the summer, having joined the club following the end of his stay at Leicester.
But he hasn't been able to make much of an impact in Spain thus far - and a move away from the club could allow him to kickstart his career.
Iheanacho is yet to score a single league goal for his current team.
Having endured a fairly underwhelming 2023/24 campaign, despite Leicester's promotion, he will be keen to get back to his best.
He may have scored three goals in the Copa del Rey this season, but he needs regular starts to prove his worth and currently, he isn't getting them with his current team.
At Elland Road though, he would probably be very heavily involved, considering the CV he has.
A loan move to West Yorkshire for the rest of the season could end up working out well for all parties, especially Leeds, who could benefit from added firepower.
