Sevilla clarify that they’ll pay only 8% of Youssof Fofana’s Milan salary and have no option to make his move permanent.

Sevilla have clarified the terms of Fofana’s loan move from Milan during the Frenchman’s unveiling to the press on Wednesday.

As reported by several Italian sources, including Gianluca Di Marzio, Sevilla said they’d pay only 8% of the French midfielder’s salary and would not retain any option to make his move permanent.

Fofana was not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans at Milan and joined Sevilla on deadline day after his move to Lyon collapsed.

Fofana did not train with the rest of the Milan team in the second part of the pre-season earlier this summer.

The France international, 27, joined Milan in a €26m deal from Monaco in 2024 and played 88 games with the Rossoneri, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.

Fofana remains under contract with Milan until June 2028.

Fofana made his Sevilla debut last weekend, coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Espanyol.
