L’Équipe are reporting that Sheffiled United are in taks to sign ESTAC Troyes attacker Mama Baldé (27). A €6m fee is being touted.
The Guinea-Bissau international’s contract with Troyes runs until the summer of 2025, however, following the club’s relegation to Ligue 2 last season, a departure is on the cards as we enter into the final week of the transfer window. Baldé is yet to feature for the Aubois side this campaign, but last season in Ligue 1, he scored 12 goals in 34 games.
Baldé also registered four assists as Patrick Kisnorbo’s side were one of four sides relegated to the second tier of French football. That form caught the eye of newly promoted Premier League side Sheffield United, who are in the market for a replacement for Iliman Ndiaye, who joined Olympique de Marseille earlier this summer.
Negotiations between Sheffield United and Troyes over Baldé’s transfer have been ongoing these past few days, and the fee being touted is just over €6m.
