Even though virtually everything that could've gone wrong for Sheffield Wednesday has gone wrong, one thing you can't say is that Hillsborough has been boring this season.

From the ill-fated Xisco Munoz tenure to all the controversy between supporters and unpopular owner Dejphon Chansiri - and everything inbetween - there's been no shortage of drama in the blue and white quarters of South Yorkshire.

Wednesday supporters will now hope that the chaotic tempo levels out somewhat under Danny Rohl, who fell to defeat in his Owls dugout debut away to Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Following their disheartening 1-0 defeat at Vicarage Road - one which now has them nine points away from safety after only 12 outings - we've decided to compose a round-up of all the latest goings-on at the club.

Danny Rohl hints at new arrival

There aren't many things more synonymous with a new managerial appointment than a complete overhaul of the coaching staff.

Managers feel most comfortable around those who they know are wholly aligned with their coaching style and demands, and Rohl has already sought out three entrusted figures in the form of Sacha Lense, Chris Powell, and Henrik Pedersen.

He's still on the search for a goalkeeping specialist, though, and hopes to have this vacancy rectified soon after former coach Antonello Brambilla departed alongside Munoz.

"At the moment we have Nicky (Weaver) and he is doing very well. But I have to decide in the next few days about this position."

Danny Rohl disappointed by penalty incident at Watford

Wednesday's defeat down south wasn't without controversy and a different outcome just could've occurred had referee Dean Whitestone stuck to his initial decision to award a penalty with the game still goalless, adjudging that winger Anthony Musaba had been tripped by Watford's Jamal Lewis.

Though following dialogue with his linesman, Whitestone changed his decision and awarded a corner instead, leaving Wednesdayites and Rohl himself infuriated.

The German boss said of the flashpoint: "Until now I haven't seen the video clip again. For me when the ref says it is a penalty then it's a penalty.

"But today was new for me, and a new thing. It's a pity because it would have been a great opportunity to maybe go in front and maybe the match is then different.

"Maybe if we get it and go ahead the opponent has to go forward and we can counter-attack. I said to my coaches I had a feeling in the air that we could take something today but in the end it's a loss and it's disappointing.

"I'm sure if we play like this going forward we will take points in the future."

John Buckley makes Danny Rohl admission

Given the turmoil that Wednesday currently find themselves entrenched in, you simply can't understate the importance of the manager being onside with the players.

Rohl will need their unwavering respect and commitment if he's to give them any faint chance of surviving this term, but according to on-loan Blackburn Rovers midfielder John Buckley, he's already acquired that - and that should only be a positive factor moving forward.

Buckley told The Star's Joe Crann: "Each manager has different styles of play and things like that, but all the lads have bought into it so far.

"(He's demanded) intensity, being composed on the ball, having good connections with each other, trusting each other on the ball, not just kicking it forward, things like that.

"We've just got to stick together, and if we play like that, we'll be able to pick up points, no doubt about that."
