Leeds United’s unbeaten start has them fifth on goal difference after five games. Daniel Farke’s future is in focus as talks over a new contract continue.
Farke’s current deal is due to end at the close of the season, and he is in discussions with 49ers Enterprises and the board about extending it. He is eager to remain at Elland Road. Speaking to Leeds Live, former manager Simon Grayson said he would be surprised if negotiations did not move quickly.
The German was hired to take Leeds back to the Premier League and, after losing the play-off final at Wembley, achieved promotion a year later with a record points haul. Consolidation then became the target, a task he is now two years into.
"I think he (Farke) has dismissed a lot of it because when there have been the games, like there has, he doesn't want to take anything away from the preparations for the team. I'll be surprised if something doesn't happen in this next couple of weeks with it all," he said.
"I think he wants to stay, the club want him to stay, so I'd be very surprised if something doesn't happen very soon."
