Liverpool have suffered another long-term injury blow with the news that Sophie Roman Haug has suffered an ACL injury.

The Norwegian suffered the injury early in last week's 2-1 win away to Durham in the League Cup, with Samantha Kerr eventually scoring the winner for the Reds.

"Of course this is the news we didn't want to hear for Sophie and we are all hugely disappointed for her," said manager Gareth Taylor.

"It's a really tough blow following on from the similar news about Marie [Höbinger] last week.

"But the main thing is making sure Sophie has the best of care and everyone at Melwood will be right behind her as she begins her journey back to fitness."

Roman Haug initially joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2026 and has since featured 50 times for the Reds in all competitions, scoring 14 goals.
