Hugo Broos named a 26-man South Africa squad on Wednesday for the 2026 World Cup. The Bafana Bafana return after 16 years and open against Mexico on 11 June.
According to L'Équipe, the selection leans heavily on Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. Star forward Lyle Foster is included, as is Oswin Appollis, who impressed at the last AFCON.

Nineteen players are home-based, including eight from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, the dominant forces in South African football.
Drawn in Group A, they then face the Czech Republic on 18 June and South Korea on 25 June.
This is their fourth World Cup, and they will try to progress beyond the group stage for the first time.
