Burnley have signed former Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy on a contract until the end of the season.
"I'm really happy to now be here at Burnley," the striker said.
"This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town."
"I can't wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction."
Vardy scored 200 goals in 500 appearances for the Foxes before departing in 2025, and he was part of Leicester's fairy tale Premier League title win in 2016.
The 39-year-old spent last season in Italy with Cremonese and has been a free agent this summer.
He was non-league football's first £1million sale when he joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012.
Burnley have made a slow start on their return to the Championship following last season's relegation. Nicky Hayen's side lost 2-1 at home to Bristol City on Saturday and sit bottom with two points.
Southampton's first meeting with Burnley this season is at St Mary's on nine December.
