Southampton's next Player of the Month candidates after Cyle Larin | OneFootball

Cyle Larin collected August's Championship Player of the Month after scoring four in four for Southampton. According to Sainstmarching.com, his form and the club's September surge leave several Saints in the frame for the next award.

Larin's August included a late-month brace in the 5-1 defeat of Millwall, and he has since added three league goals against Swansea City and Bristol City. Southampton have beaten both 4-1 and 3-1 at St Mary's and remain unbeaten before visiting Wrexham.

Finn Azaz has led much of the attacking sparkle this month. He struck after nine minutes against the then league-leading Swans, then recorded a goal and two assists in the 4-1 win over Michael Skubala's Robins. Another return at Wrexham could push him into the monthly reckoning.

Keven Schlotterbeck is another candidate. Back-to-back honours remain possible for Larin. He needs one more league strike this month at Phil Parkinson's Wrexham to match August, and with the Red Dragons coming off a 6-0 loss to West Ham United, he could cause problems. He is still without an away league goal in September.
