Ahead of the Juventus Men’s First Team’s Serie A Matchday 24 fixture against Lazio on Sunday, coach Luciano Spalletti gave his usual pre-match press conference on Saturday afternoon.

The press conference took place after the announcement of Kenan Yildiz’s renewal until 2030, which Spalletti also commented on.

Here’s what he had to say ahead of Lazio.

THE SHAPE OF THE SQUAD

“Kenan Yildiz is available for tomorrow, he trained as normal today. Francisco Conceicao and Lloyd Kelly trained separately and will have to be evaluated, because not a lot of time has passed since the last game. We’ll have to see how they are tomorrow morning.

"How the team performs also depends on me, I make decisions. Our team encourages players to influence each other during the game. By playing some of the guys more than others, I’ve probably got through to some of them more than others. I don’t see any difference between starters and backup players. I don’t single out individuals when we lose, as it happens because the whole team drops below the usual level.”

NEW FACES

“Jeremie Boga and Emil Holm are two players who can help us a lot. Boga can make an impact in a lot of positions because of his skill and speed, by beating players when needed. He showed us his personality as soon as he arrived, taking on his man straight away when he came on. I’ve known Holm for longer because he played for Spezia, and I saw him play a lot even before he had fully developed.”

ON LAZIO

“Lazio are a team who move a lot, they like to play the ball around and know how to adapt to a lot of different scenarios that arise in a game, which is an important thing to be able to do.

"We’ll have to take control of the game. Things need to be perfect to get the better of them, as they’re very united and compact as a team. We’ll need to be good at reading and understanding the different phases of the game. Lazio are a better side than their league position suggests.”
