According to El País, the Spanish government will today approve a royal decree to permanently add four Liga F fixtures to the Quiniela.
The pool currently features men's Primera and Segunda matches, and the change will introduce fixtures from the top women's league, a move driven by the Consejo Superior de Deportes.
Liga F, recognised as a professional competition since the 2022-2023 season, will receive a share of the revenue generated by the Quiniela.
The distribution is set to benefit the 16 clubs in the league, as proceeds will no longer be directed solely to men's teams.
The measure also aims to raise the visibility of women's football, where attendances remain modest and salaries are lower.
It is not the first time Liga F has featured in the Quiniela, with occasional women's fixtures included since the game's creation in 1946.
