SPL reschedules Matchweeks eight to 10 to support Saudi Arabia’s Gulf Cup preparations | OneFootball

According to spl.com.sa, the Saudi Pro League has rescheduled Matchweeks eight, nine and 10 of the 2026-27 Roshn Saudi League after coordinating with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The move is intended to extend hosts Saudi Arabia’s preparation for the 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup in Jeddah, which runs from September 23 to October 6.

Matchweek eight will now be played on October 9-11, moved from September 17-19.

Matchweek nine shifts from October 9-11 to October 15-17. Matchweek 10 follows on October 18-20, instead of October 15-17.

Matchweek 11 will begin on October 23, one day later than initially planned, to ensure sufficient recovery time between fixtures.

The revised dates are designed to maintain appropriate rest periods and support player readiness during a congested domestic and international calendar. The SPL will continue to work with SAFF to align the Roshn Saudi League schedule with national team requirements.
