Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has been nominated for the Premier League’s Guinness Goal of the Month award for September, following his stunning free-kick against Wolves at Molineux.
The Germany international, a summer signing from TSG Hoffenheim, opened his Leeds account in the first half of the 3-1 victory. From 30 yards out, Stach curled a right-footed strike over the wall and into the top corner, giving Wolves goalkeeper José Sá no chance and sending the travelling supporters into raptures.
His strike is one of eight nominated for September’s award. The shortlist also includes goals from Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal v Nottingham Forest), Lucas Bergvall (West Ham v Tottenham), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool v Everton), Tyrick Mitchell (West Ham v Crystal Palace), Harry Wilson (Fulham v Brentford), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal v Man City) and Igor Thiago (Brentford v Man United).
Supporters can vote for Stach on the Premier League’s official website, with the winner to be announced on Friday 10th October.
