Pape Diop broke the game open in the 27th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box. His intervention set Toulouse up for a 2-0 win over Brest.
He found space on the edge and drilled low into the bottom left corner (27.), the cleanest moment of first half quality.
Then he turned creator, sliding a pass for Yann Gboho to finish from range (43.), giving Toulouse clear daylight before the interval.
Diop ended with three attempts, an assist and eight recoveries, while 39 of his 44 passes found a team-mate, underlining how he connected play and kept Brest on the back foot.
Operating from midfield, he repeatedly received the ball facing forward and fed runners, which sustained Toulouse's control of the key phases.
Toulouse rise from eighth to seventh and host Auxerre next. Brest visit Nice.
