Santiago Mariano Rodriguez Molina struck in the 85th minute to launch a late fightback, but Athletico Paranaense won 3-2 at Botafogo.
The Uruguayan came on and immediately gave Fogão thrust, sweeping a left-footed strike from outside the box after a corner (85.).
He then arrived in the six yard area to turn in Danilo's knockdown in the second minute of second half stoppage time, setting up a frantic finale for Glorioso.
Santiago Rodríguez finished with two attempts, both on target, and two goals from 20 touches, plus three recoveries and a successful dribble – the clearest threat against Furacão.
His timing on second balls and late runs pinned Athletico-PR's back line and kept Fogão alive through set pieces.
Furacão stay third on 44 points, while Fogão remain 11th on 30. Athletico-PR host Fluminense next, and Fogão visit Flamengo.
How high would you rate Rodríguez's cameo tonight?
