The STJD has set Wednesday 15 for a hearing that will determine Jorge Carrascal’s availability for Flamengo’s upcoming Brasileirão fixtures, according to Coluna Do Fla. Depending on the ruling, the Colombian could miss a further four matches.
Carrascal will be judged for the red card shown against Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil, issued after he struck Breno Bidon in the face with his hand.
His suspension currently stands at four games, but he has been playing after Flamengo secured a suspensive effect. If the STJD confirms the penalty, he will have to serve it in Brasileirão matches.
He is already unavailable for the Bahia fixture in the next league round. In the 12 April clássico against Fluminense, he was sent off late on for a scissor tackle on Guga. If he receives the maximum sanction, the total absence would reach five games.
After beating Fluminense, the squad were given Monday 13 off. Training resumes on Tuesday 14 under Leonardo Jardim for the next assignments.
On Thursday 16, Flamengo host Independiente Medellín in the Libertadores second round at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
