Strand Larsen shines as Palace ease past Middlesbrough | OneFootball

Crystal Palace eased into the Carabao Cup fourth round with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Selhurst Park, with Jørgen Strand Larsen scoring twice.

Pierre Sage made eight changes following Saturday’s win at Fulham, but Palace quickly settled and created the clearer openings. Óscar Mingueza found the breakthrough in the 37th minute, whipping in a cross that Strand Larsen expertly headed into the bottom corner.

Middlesbrough showed some threat after the interval, but Palace extended their lead eight minutes into the second half. Ben Chilwell delivered from the left and Strand Larsen rose highest to power another header beyond Sol Brynn.

The visitors struggled to seriously trouble Walter Benítez, with Amario Cozier-Duberry’s effort the closest they came to scoring.

Palace put the result beyond doubt when substitute Daichi Kamada produced a stunning finish, lifting a perfectly weighted lob over Brynn from outside the box.

The Eagles comfortably saw out the remainder to secure their place in round four.
