According to a report by Spanish media outlet Arco FM and confirmed by L’Équipe, RC Strasbourg Alsace have set their sights on Racing de Santander striker Jeremy Arévalo (20).
The Ecuadorian international who plays in the second tier in Spain could make the move in the winter transfer window, with Arco FM explaining that he could earn up to twenty times his current salary in France. Under contract until 2027, Arévalo has a €7m release clause.
Strasbourg have already hit gold this season via the Spanish market. Joaquín Pancihelli, who arrived from Deportivo Alavés over the summer, has been one of the club’s outstanding players having scored nine goals in his first 14 Ligue 1 matches, enough to make him the second top scorer in the league.
Despite his success in the no.9 role, Strasbourg feel that this position needs strengthening. Particularly with Emanuel Emegha set to leave for Chelsea FC at the end of the season. According to L’Équipe, they’ve already agreed a move to bring in the promising Yaya Diéme (17) from Senegal.
