Stuttgart sporting director confirms talks over Deniz Undav future

Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth says talks are ongoing with Deniz Undav and his agent over the striker's future.

“We are always in discussions – with his agent, with him. So let’s see what happens in the coming weeks and months,” he told Bild.

Negotiations over a new deal beyond 2027 are said to be proving difficult, with Stuttgart preferring a two-year extension and the player seeking three.

Despite that, Stuttgart currently have no intention of selling the forward this summer, one year before his existing contract expires.

“Above all, we don’t want to let Deniz go. That’s why we aren’t looking to generate a transfer fee right now. We want to continue benefiting from his goals,” he said.

Undav has 11 goals and three assists in 17 Bundesliga matches this season.
