FC Bayern has given two talented Japanese players the chance to showcase their skills at the club’s training facility. Soma Furukawa and Yuma Terada were part of the squad for the Bayern reserves’ friendly match against FSV Pfaffenhofen, giving them the opportunity to impress the record champions’ management.
Two Japanese trialists are currently participating in training with the Regionalliga team at FC Bayern’s campus. Soma Furukawa and Yuma Terada made their debuts in the friendly match against FSV Pfaffenhofen.
Little is known about the two trialists so far. Soma Furukawa is 18 years old and plays on the right wing. In his home country, he plays for RKU Kashiwa High School.
It’s also interesting to note that Furukawa is represented by the same agency that manages Bayern pro Hiroki Ito. The Japanese player may therefore have some connection to the record champions.
Yuma Terada also had the opportunity to showcase his skills. FC Bayern initially provided no details on how long the two Japanese players will remain on campus or whether a signing is planned afterward.
In the match against Pfaffenhofen, the two trialists started on the bench. Furukawa was then allowed to join the action on the field right after halftime, while Terada came on a few minutes later, in the 60th minute.
From a sporting perspective, the friendly against FSV Pfaffenhofen was extremely successful for the Munich team. Coach Dante’s squad defeated the second-place team in the Bayernliga Süd 7–0 and dominated the match for long stretches.
Guido Della Rovere put Bayern ahead in the 21st minute. Matous Srb and Anton Heinz then sealed the deal before halftime, with Heinz even scoring twice.
After the break, Yll Gashi, Noah Codjo-Evora, and Bastian Assomo sealed the lopsided victory. Assomo put the finishing touch on the game in the 87th minute, after having previously missed a penalty kick.

For Furukawa and Terada, however, the focus was less on the result and more on their personal test. Both were able to show what they can do with the ball in a competitive match for the first time.
It remains to be seen whether this performance will be enough to earn them a permanent spot on the team. FC Bayern, however, closely monitors the youth market and regularly uses such opportunities to take a closer look at promising talents.
