Sunderland and Leeds United have been handed encouragement in the chase for Yacine Titraoui, as his agents are reportedly reluctant to approve a switch to Wolves because of the club’s relegation prospects to the Championship. That stance could aid the Black Cats’ bid.
Africa Foot reports that, should the Algerian seal an English move, it is unlikely to be to Molineux, with approaches from Wolves said to have been discouraged.
At present, Rob Edwards’ side are bottom of the Premier League, 17 points adrift with 10 matches to play. Barring a remarkable escape, survival appears remote.
Titraoui, 22, has operated in central midfield for Sporting Charleroi this season, producing four goals and two assists in 31 appearances in all competitions. He is represented by a major English agency, and a Premier League move continues to be mooted.
Charleroi are seeking a significant profit if he departs, although former club AC Paradou hold a sell-on clause believed to be around 25% from his 2024 transfer to Belgium. Sunderland and Leeds are monitoring him ahead of the summer, and any deal is expected to cost upwards of £7 million.
