Sunderland have set out their contract picture, with several first-team players set to depart as deals expire next week. According to Sunderland Echo, the stance followed the retained list confirmed earlier this month.

Dennis Cirkin will leave on a free transfer after helping Sunderland win two promotions during his time on Wearside. He is not alone, with further exits scheduled as contracts run down.

A number of Academy of Light players will also be released, including Oliver Bainbridge, Marshall Burke, Dan Cameron, Thomas Lavery, Elias Lenz, Ethan Moore, Adam Richardson, Rhys Walsh, Jake Waters, Ivan Struk and George Bell.

The hierarchy still have major calls to make as several players move into the final 12 months, with Regis Le Bris’ side preparing for Europa League participation.

Contract end dates, summer 2026, Bertrand Traore, Niall Huggins and Dan Neil are to leave, Lutsharel Geertruida is on loan, with Dennis Cirkin already confirmed to depart.

Summer 2028, Granit Xhaka, Wilson Isidor, Romaine Mundle, Milan Aleksic, Ahmed Abdullahi, Luis Semedo, Jenson Seelt, Timothee Pembele, Anthony Patterson, Leo Hjelde.

Summer 2029, Nordi Mukiele, Omar Alderete, Brian Brobbey, Enzo Le Fee. Summer 2030, Trai Hume, Robin Roefs, Simon Adingra, Noah Sadiki, Chemsdine Talbi, Habib Diarra, Chris Rigg, Eliezer Mayenda, Dan Ballard, Melkor Ellborg, Jocelin Ta Bi, Nilson Angulo.
