Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris has delivered a positive injury update ahead of his side’s Premier League meeting with Wolves this weekend, with both Noah Sadiki and Omar Alderete potentially available for selection, as reported by Sky Sports.
The pair picked up minor injuries while on international duty, but Le Bris expressed optimism that both could feature at Molineux. The Sunderland boss confirmed that Sadiki’s ankle issue appears less serious than first feared.
“For Noah, we checked him yesterday and he seems OK,” Le Bris said on Friday. “We’ll see after training today and tomorrow if he’s available, but we’re positive. He’s had this injury before and understands how it develops, so he’s confident.”
As for Alderete, who returned to Wearside following a lengthy international trip, Le Bris indicated that the Paraguayan defender will be further assessed after Friday’s session. “After a 20-hour flight, we’ll see,” he said. “He’s positive, but we need to wait.”
Le Bris did not rule out the possibility of either player starting, providing Sunderland with a timely boost as they look to maintain their promising start to the campaign.
“At the moment,” the Frenchman added, “that is possible.”
