The future of Milan forward Santiago Giménez is uncertain as Sunderland are ready to make an offer to sign the Mexican international, according to La Repubblica.
Sunderland, viewing Giménez as the ideal profile to significantly boost their attack, are prepared to put a €30 million on the table and that meets the requirements of the Milan management.
The offer is described as “a figure placed on the plate that satisfies the requests of the management,” giving the club the opportunity to reinvest immediately in priority areas like attack and defense. Sources close to the club suggest there is an “openness to negotiate,” but there is one absolute, non-negotiable condition: the transfer can only proceed with the total consent of the player.
This is where the situation becomes complicated. Giménez, who arrived at Milan with the ambition of growing and establishing himself in Serie A (having previously been at Feyenoord), is taking his time. The forward is reportedly realizing that his adventure in the Rossoneri shirt “has already come to an end,” but he has not yet given the green light, as he is weighing the pros and cons of a transfer that would have a significant impact on his career.
Sunderland has communicated that they are willing to wait, but “not indefinitely,” and are hoping for a positive signal from the player in the coming weeks. The final word on the deal rests with the former Feyenoord star.
