According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland expect a hectic window as they build for their first European campaign in 50 years. Director of football Florent Ghisolfi must balance SCR concerns, wages and squad gaps while deciding who stays and who goes.
Robin Roefs is firmly tipped to start next season as number one, though a huge offer could change the picture. Melker Ellborg and Simon Moore are set to stay, while Anthony Patterson is likeliest to depart permanently, with a loan only if his £8-10 million valuation is not met.
Trai Hume, Nordi Mukiele, Dan Ballard, Luke O’Nien, Omar Alderete and Reinildo are expected to remain central to Le Bris’s plans. Timothée Pembélé, Jenson Seelt, Leo Hjelde, Arthur Masuaku and Aji Alese are among those likely to move on, with loans possible in some cases.
Habib Diarra and Granit Xhaka are set to stay, as are Noah Sadiki, Chris Rigg and Enzo Le Fée, though Sadiki is one to watch if a major bid lands. Alan Browne is expected to go, Milan Aleksić looks set for a loan, and Abdoullah Ba may leave on loan to rebuild value.
Romaine Mundle’s future could hinge on pre-season, and Jocelin Ta Bi should stay while a late loan cannot be ruled out. Chemsdine Talbi and Nilson Angulo are slated for more minutes on the left. Simon Adingra is expected to depart, with any deal needing to protect Sunderland’s SCR.
Overall, departures are inevitable, yet the core is settled. Extra fixtures should spread opportunities across the squad as Sunderland seek depth in key areas.
