Sunderland are assessing a double summer move, with interest in a Napoli midfielder and an Olympiacos right-back.
Il Mattino claims the Black Cats remain keen on André-Frank Zambo Anguissa after exploring a deal last summer. The 30-year-old’s future in Italy is uncertain, and Napoli could be open to his departure.
Injuries have disrupted his season and complicated contract talks. He is under contract until 2027, and Napoli may entertain offers rather than renew.
Sunderland were among the strongest suitors alongside Bournemouth, and his family were keen on a return to England. Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, and a Premier League switch could again be possible this summer.
Despite fitness concerns, his ball-carrying and physicality could add experience and variety to Régis Le Bris’ midfield if finances align.
Sunderland are also being credited with interest in Olympiacos right-back Costinha as they target defensive depth. The 26-year-old was influential in last season’s league and cup double and their European run, though form has dipped, and he remains a regular who has accumulated significant experience over the past two seasons.
He is understood to have been monitored since January, with the club weighing whether to make an offer. Competition is expected from England and Italy, while Olympiacos are not expected to discuss terms until their season ends, and he is contracted to 2029.
