Sunderland have unveiled a home kit inspired by the 1937 FA Cup win against Preston North End, and supporters were quick to snap it up after Wednesday morning’s release.

According to Sunderland Echo, fans headed straight to club stores at the Stadium of Light and The Bridges to buy the new shirt within moments of it going on sale.

A striking pre-launch shoot featuring Granit Xhaka, Enzo Le Fee and Emily Scarr whetted appetites ahead of the launch, building excitement for the reveal.

The kit will be worn by Regis Le Bris’ side throughout a historic season.
