Sunderland host Nottingham Forest at the Stadium of Light on Friday night, with both sides issuing significant fitness updates.
According to Sunderland Echo, Régis Le Bris and Vitor Pereira outlined a mix of setbacks and positives in Thursday’s press briefings.
Omar Alderete, taken off last weekend after illness, is fit. He is in contention to start and could reunite with Dan Ballard.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after surgery on a quad problem.
Dan Ndoye, who missed the Burnley match last weekend, should be available for this game, a timely lift given Hudson-Odoi’s absence.
Defender Murillo was injured last weekend and, despite initial hopes of a swift return, he is unlikely to feature on Friday.
