Sunderland’s extended Europa League squad revealed as 20 youngsters included under Régis Le Bris | OneFootball

Sunderland have a sizeable young group for Europe as Régis Le Bris balances league and cup demands.

According to Sunderland Echo, UEFA’s latest list shows 20 players on List B, with 19-year-old Chris Rigg on List A. That totals 20 young players overall, though Rigg is not part of List B.

Goalkeepers Ben Metcalf and Joe Cowan feature behind Robin Roefs and Simon Moore. Defenders on List B are Luke Bell, Jenson Jones, Finlay Holcroft, Joseph Neild, Ben Kindon and Archie Lightfoot. Opportunities could arise if injuries or rotation bite.

Midfielders Bayley Hester, Charlie Dinsdale, Jack Whittaker, Liam Hunt, Felix Scott, Jaydon Jones and Timur Tutierov are included. Dinsdale has impressed for the development side, while Tutierov has senior loan experience and remains around the first team.

Forwards Finn Geragusian, Trey Ogunsuyi, Marcus Neill and Tom Proctor complete List B. List A contains 22 players, with Roefs and Moore the senior goalkeepers and Melker Ellborg omitted.

Le Bris’s seniors offer depth. Notables include defenders Kevin Danso, Dan Ballard and Thomas Meunier, with Luke O’Nien also listed, plus captain Granit Xhaka in midfield and forwards Brian Brobbey and Malick Fofana.

Chemsdine Talbi remains the standout omission. Left off amid post-deadline uncertainty, he stayed, but cannot be added to List B because of age and UEFA time-served rules. Jocelin Ta Bi, Alan Browne and Juan Riquelme Angulo are also not listed.

Simon Adingra and Jenson Seelt are out on loan. Eligible players can still be added to List B during the competition.
