Semi Ajayi is fit for action

سوبر إيغلز: عودة سيمي أجايي من الإصابة، خبر سار لإريك تشيلي
Semi Ajayi is now fit for duty. He has recovered from his injury and will be available for his club Hull City as well as the national team. The Nigerian centre-back suffered a hamstring injury during the third-place match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against Egypt. That setback, which came after he had played six matches in the tournament, kept him off the pitch since January 17.
Semi Ajayi fully recovered
Ajayi has rejoined full training and could be back in Hull City's squad in the coming days. Assistant coach Dean Holden was upbeat: "Everyone has come through unscathed and we'll welcome Semi back into the team, which is a big boost for us. He's been out since that AFCON match. He hasn't had much training, but he was out there this morning, looked good, and he'll be back."
A timely return for Nigeria
Under Eric Chelle's guidance, the Super Eagles are preparing for a four-nation tournament in March, where Nigeria will take on Iran, Jordan, and Costa Rica. Ajayi's return is a significant reinforcement, bringing stability to the back line and valuable experience to the younger players in the squad.
Although he has yet to regain full match sharpness, Ajayi has been training and says he is ready to contribute during this international window. His last appearance for the Tigers was at the start of December, so his return to competition will likely be gradual, but his impact could be felt immediately, both defensively and mentally.
