The 38-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City player has been confirmed as the new tactician for Gaza United for the upcoming 2025/26 season. This appointment comes after his recent departure from Hungry Lions of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, a club he joined after his stint with Cape Town Spurs FC.

The team made the announcement official, stating: Gaza family let’s welcome new coachon board Surprise Ralani. New era begins. Welcome coach.

Ralani's new side competes in Stream B of the Northern Cape division, facing teams such as Blues FC Development, Destiny United, and Mighty Reds FC, among others. This move follows his brief appearance as a player for Kimberley Saints FC in the same league just last week.

His first test as a manager will be an away match against G Stastie FC on Sunday, 23 November, with kickoff at 15:00. The club and its supporters will be hoping that Ralani, who is also the father of Amajimbos star Emile Witbooi, can use his extensive professional experience to guide Gaza United in a serious title challenge. The ultimate objective will be to secure a place in the national playoffs and earn promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Ralani's own football foundations were developed at the Stars of Africa Academy, which is overseen by former Kaizer Chiefs coach Farouk Khan.
