André Almeida returned to training under Carlos Corberán this morning as Swansea’s bid sets the benchmark for his exit, three and a half million plus add-ons. The Welsh club remain in the running.

According to AS, Almeida met yesterday with Ron Gourlay and Corberán, told them he intends to leave Valencia and prefers to wait for Celta de Vigo before accepting Swansea.

Valencia, satisfied with the British proposal in its structure and substance, have communicated their stance to the player’s camp. He will stay with the group until he accepts Swansea’s bid or another club matches or betters it.

For now Corberán will regard him as one more in the squad, with a substitute role.

If Almeida rules out Swansea, any suitor must at least match those terms. Offers from Spanish football would need to surpass them in fixed and add-ons, since Swansea are not a direct rival.
