Former Saints striker Ross Stewart has suffered another setback at Swansea and is set to miss next week’s St Mary’s return.

According to Daily Echo, the Scotland international has a soft tissue quad problem and is expected to miss Swansea’s trip to Southampton on Tuesday.

He has already missed the last two Championship matches. The 30-year-old has made only one substitute appearance, totalling nine minutes, since joining on a three-year deal last month.

He is now expected to miss Saturday’s home game against Wrexham, the Southampton fixture and meetings with Burnley and Lincoln City before the international break.

A return during the international break could follow. Stewart’s time at Southampton was curtailed by injuries, limiting him to 50 appearances in three years.
