On Monday, Tanguy Coulibaly (22) will sign a two-year deal with Montpellier Hérault SC, according to Mohammed Toubache-Ter. The player has been a free agent ever since the end of his contract with Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, back in July.

Coulibaly came through the PSG academy without ever making an appearance with the first team, before signing his first professional contract with Stuttgart, in the summer of 2019. There, he made 74 appearances with the first team, scoring 6 goals and giving three assists.

The Franco-Ivorian is an extremely versatile player, having started at seven different positions during his time in Germany, ranging from right-wingback to striker, or even attacking midfielder. He provides excellent physical attributes, both through power and acceleration, and great technical skills, allowing him to make differences on his own. His decision-making and finishing in the final third could however be improved on.

In Michel Der Zakarian’s 4-2-3-1 setup, Coulibaly would most likely operate on either flank of the attack, as a secondary option to Arnaud Nordin (25) or Mousa Al-Tamari (26). An interesting squad option, who can be valuable coming off of the bench. If the transfer is confirmed, he could potentially be part of the squad that will play RC Lens at home, next Friday.
