Amid fears of relegation to Ligue 2, tension is rising at OGC Nice, according to a report from Nice-Matin.

The club host Le Havre AC on Sunday afternoon, 24 hours after AJ Auxerre’s draw against FC Nantes closed the gap to the relegation spot to just three points. L’AJA and Nice still have to face each other before the end of the season.

After last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to RC Strasbourg Alsace, co-president Maurice Cohen had some strong words, denouncing the attitudes of some players, without, of course, naming names. “We saw a catastrophic team,” he summarised.

Nice-Matin have now revealed that there was tension in the dressing room at half-time. The decision for Isak Jansson and Sofiane Diop not to emerge from the dressing room for the second half, having been subbed off at the break, has been criticised. Juma Bah also did not emerge but he was receiving treatment following his withdrawal.

There was also tension on the pitch between Diop and Jonathan Clauss, with the latter refusing to do his post-match media duties, as was planned. Hicham Boudaoui, meanwhile, insulted Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Elye Wahi on the pitch, the publication added.

At half-time, Morgan Sanson also had harsh words for his teammates at the halfway mark of the defeat to Le Racing. However, as he said on Friday, he does not regret his remarks. “Initially, I had come to be measured, but then I thought about our first half and I felt fed up. I don’t regret my comments. I hope that the fed-up feeling is a collective one,” said the former Aston Villa and Olympique de Marseille midfielder.
