These 10 players won't be available for an early top-four clash on Saturday lunchtime at The Hawthorns

New Championship leaders West Brom are looking to maintain their strong start early on as they return home this Saturday to take on QPR.

James Morrison's side were surprisingly comfortable in victory at Derby County, given they played the majority of the game with 10 men after Brayann Pereira was sent off on his debut.

Meanwhile, QPR dominated possession, had more shots, shots on target and touches in Charlton Athletic's box, but couldn't break the Addicks down, and were perhaps lucky they kept a clean sheet, too, after a contentious offside decision went against Tyreece Campbell.

Either way, it ensures that this will be a matchup between two sides in the top four after six games.

It's a quick turnaround for both sides, who have to juggle playing on Wednesday evening and Saturday lunchtime, with both also picking up some extra injuries over the past week. These 10 players won't be involved.

As prefaced, new West Brom signing Brayann Pereira won't be featuring this weekend, after he saw red in his debut against Derby.

The 23-year-old will serve just a one-match suspension, after he was shown two yellow cards in the space of eight first-half minutes at Pride Park.

The Baggies' most recent injury concern surrounds full-back Nolan Galves, who was forced off in the second half on Wednesday night with a knee injury.

West Brom boss James Morrison admitted after the game that the initial prognosis "didn't look good," with the Frenchman set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the issue.

The 23-year-old was only on the pitch for 15 minutes, having been rested from the off after playing every minute in the first five league games.

West Brom confirmed on Tuesday that winger Mikey Johnston will be out for an unspecified "extended spell" due to the recurrence of the ankle stress fracture he suffered back in February against Oxford United.

The Irishman recorded nine assists last season, despite the Baggies' general struggles going forward, and will be a big miss in what is one of the smaller squads in the Championship.

The worry that all QPR fans had following the signing of Tariq Lamptey this summer came to fruition on Wednesday night, as the talented full-back was withdrawn inside the first half due to an injury.

The 25-year-old only made two appearances for Fiorentina last season before going down with a serious knee injury. Injuries have, unfortunately, been the reason why the talented full-back has found himself playing in the Championship this season.

R's boss Julien Stephan admitted he doesn't know the extent of the injury until a scan is done, but stated that "it doesn't present very well."

Three minutes into the second half on Wednesday, Stephan had to shuffle his defensive pack once again, as captain Jimmy Dunne was forced off injured, too.

Stephan's comments about Lamptey were a general blanket opinion on both his defensive casualties on Wednesday.

“Now we have to find a way to present a competitive team on Saturday. I will reflect on that tomorrow,” said Stephan after the game.

Winger Koki Saito was unable to feature against Charlton after picking up an injury against Middlesbrough last Saturday.

The 25-year-old fan favourite at Loftus Road already has one goal to his name this season, but remains a doubt for the trip to The Hawthornes this weekend.

Ilias Chair

Saito picked up an injury after being made to play 76 minutes as a substitute against Kim Hellberg's side. He replaced Ilias Chair early on in that one.

Chair enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign following an injury-plagued term last season. It's unknown how long the Moroccan will be out for, with Stephan stating post-Boro that he could return soon before a diagnosis was given.

He missed Wednesday night, though, and could miss Saturday, too.

Richard Kone was also an injury casualty against Middlesbrough, being forced off five minutes before half-time.

Like Chair, Julien Stephan didn't give a potential timeframe until they were both assessed in the early stages of this week. Again, though, after not featuring on Wednesday, he likely won't feature against West Brom, either, having largely impressed at Loftus Road since joining in a reported £2.75 million deal from Wycombe Wanderers last summer.

The 27-year-old won't be seen until after this month's international break.

And Karamoko Dembele continues to miss time with the ACL injury he picked up back in February.

The 23-year-old is expected to be back with the squad in a matter of weeks
