“The famous Chelsea” are going to be “stuck to selling rather than buying” this summer

Chelsea are apparently going to be stuck selling players this summer rather than buying them, is what has been claimed.

We know Chelsea need to sell players this summer, that is very obvious. But I don’t think it’s going to be a case of selling only, and I don’t think they even need to buy to sell. So they will very much be signing new players this summer still. Which makes the quotes down below by former Everton CEO Keith Wyness, simply incorrect in my view.

Wyness has been speaking about Chelsea’s interest in Bournemouth player Eli Kroupi Junior, and doesn’t think Chelsea will go for him.

Wyness on Chelsea plans

In quotes picked up on SPTC, Wyness said on Kroupi:

“The famous Chelsea have been named again, but I just don’t see Chelsea doing that at the moment. I think they’re going to be stuck to selling rather than buying many this summer.

“I don’t think he’s going to be leaving Bournemouth either now that there’s Champions League at stake as well. I think he’s going to stay for another season, and he’s of an age where another season wouldn’t hurt in terms of his valuation.

“Bournemouth would love to give it a go in Europe. They’ve been a very attractive team to watch, unbeaten since January, it’s incredible, and I think he would want to stay with the squad that’s done so much.

“They’ve obviously knitted together really well, really strongly. While they’re going to be losing their manager still, whoever comes in, I think they’ll be happy to take that squad on and take them forward.

“So I don’t expect him to be going anywhere. Of course, there’s going to be interest in a number of the Bournemouth players, but I just see them hanging on and keeping them together for next year.”

In other news today…

Allegedly, Chelsea don’t want to sell Enzo Fernandez, and have set a high asking price for him. Although I don’t believe it…. I’m sure he’ll go for much less than £120m.

Levi Colwill had a great return to action following injury, and reports on his rehab show just how that was possible. People at Chelsea were surprised.
