The players who could leave Norwich City for nothing this summer
Norwich City have not had the season that supporters were hoping for when Liam Manning was appointed as manager in the summer.
The Canaries find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle, with Philippe Clement now in charge of the first team squad.
The Norfolk outfit are hoping to avoid the drop, having not fallen as low as the third tier since 2009/10.
As we approach the final stages of the season, we take a look at the Norwich players who could depart in the summer for nothing, as things stand…

Jeffrey Schlupp joined Norwich last summer following his departure from Crystal Palace, agreeing to a one-year deal with the Championship side.
The midfielder has struggled to make much of an impact at Carrow Road despite his vast Premier League experience.
As things stand, it would be surprising if he remained with the club beyond this season and the expiration of his current contract.

Norwich exercised a clause in Emiliano Marcondes’ contract last summer that extended his stay in the team for another 12 months.
But that deal is now set to expire in June, meaning he could be set for an exit from Carrow Road at the end of the season.
The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Carrow Road this year, which perhaps indicates that he won’t be a part of the squad for much longer.

Shane Duffy agreed to a three-year deal with Norwich when he made the move from Brighton to Carrow Road in July 2023.
The defender’s contract is now into its final months, and his departure from the club now feels inevitable.
The centre-back has become a fringe player, earning limited minutes under both Manning and Clement this season, so an exit would make the most sense at this stage.

Kenny McLean has been a critical part of the Norwich squad this season, but the midfielder’s contract is currently set to expire in the summer.
The Scotland international agreed to an extension that runs until June 2026, but the Canaries do hold the option to trigger an extra 12 months.
Given his importance to the club, it would be quite surprising if the Championship side let him go for nothing instead of utilising this option in the 34-year-old’s contract.

Tony Springett has struggled for consistent minutes during his time at Norwich, and his contract is now set to expire in the summer.
The Irishman has earned limited minutes this season, with the club struggling at the bottom end of the second division table.
The Canaries have no option to extend his deal by a further year, and it would come as no surprise if he walked away from the Norfolk outfit for nothing at the end of the campaign.

Daniel Barden has been far down the pecking order at Norwich since coming through the club’s first team academy system.
The goalkeeper’s contract runs until June 2026, meaning he is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, unless something changes..
