The Premier League’s 2026/27 kits are out, so the verdicts are in. Here is a countdown of the season’s least appealing designs.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Newcastle, Spurs and Sunderland feature in this list, which runs from six to one.
6. Tottenham Hotspur, away: Risk can be refreshing, but Spurs’ away shirt confuses more than it charms. A strobing, Magic Eye-style pattern breaks midway, then returns busier below, leaving a restless, muddled finish.
5. Fulham, away: A nod to 1996/97’s chequered classic goes awry. Adidas add a blotchy overlay that looks like colours bled, the red shorts clash, and only the crisp white trim offers respite.
4. Ipswich Town, away: Beige rarely flatters. Murky tones with pinstripes that halt before the sleeves create a bargain-bin feel that does the club no favours.
3. Sunderland, away: Pink and black pay homage to an Elvis Presley outfit in a Hummel collaboration. The idea is playful, yet the end result risks dartboard chic rather than rock and roll.
2. Bournemouth, home: Strip the sponsor away and this could be tidy. Instead the entire concept circles a dominant logo, turning the shirt into a giant prompt button and overwhelming the classic stripes.
1. Newcastle United, home: Stripes demand restraint and Adidas have gone the other way. Bright blue shoulder accents jar with the black and white, the sponsor looks clunky, and the whole composition fights itself from collar to hem.
