We are starting a new year, and with it come wishes of success for our Rojiblancas. That’s right: in just a couple of days we will once again feel the excitement of Chivas Femenil, who will open the Clausura 2026 at home with the unconditional support of the Chivahermanos.
We know that the Clausura tournaments mark the midpoint of the footballing year, but at the same time they help us welcome a new calendar year. The excitement of seeing the ball roll once again in the women’s league under this setting is huge, and it also brings with it a new curiosity about El Rebaño in Liga MX Femenil.
This Sunday, January 4th, when Guadalajara and 'Atleti' kick off the CL26, Chivas Femenil will play its earliest match ever in a calendar year. Just as you read it: El Rebaño Sagrado have never played an official match so early at the start of a year.
In the eight years of existence of the women’s league, one date that has been painted in Rojiblanco colors is January 6, as Chivas have debuted in Clausura tournaments on that date five times. In fact, they had started their campaigns on that day for three consecutive years, making it the earliest kickoff prior to this CL26.
On the other hand, the latest debut for the Guadalajara side at the start of a calendar year came in 2021, when their journey began on January 11, hosting FC Juárez.
And if one more stat were needed, Guadalajara remain unbeaten in Matchday 1 of the Clausura tournaments, with a record of six wins and two draws.
