The OneFootball podcast returns once again to take a look at women’s football across Europe.
This week, in honour of International Women’s Day, Angelina Kelly is joined by an all-female panel with Her Football Hub’s Megan Hughes and Manchester United Women’s Supporters Club founder Natalie Burrell.
First up it’s the WSL and the race is truly on at the top and bottom of the table as a win for Manchester City kept their title hopes alive and wins for Manchester United and Arsenal meant that the two clubs will have to battle it out for that third Champions League spot in their meeting next week. Meanwhile Bristol City managed to climb out of the relegation zone which meant West Ham found themselves bottom of the league as they desperately search for a way out.
Over in Germany, Bayern Munich celebrated another victory as they secured their 20th straight win in all competitions – can anybody stop this team?
Then in Italy Juventus triumphed over AC Milan with a 4-0 win that saw them go six points clear of their opposition, with the victory surely indicating that Rita Guarino’s team will be crowned Serie A champions for the fourth time in a row.
And finally for this week’s hot topic, the panel celebrated International Women’s Day which included discussions about what women’s football means to them, the next steps for the sport and which women in football they admire including the likes of Casey Stoney, Alex Scott and Asisat Oshoala.
