FC Barcelona once again had to fight hard to get their desired 3 points from their last La Liga game against Real Oviedo, as they had to come back from a 1-0 deficit in the second half. Ultimately, the Blaugranes were able to get the job done as they got a 1-3 win.
The fight back was started in the second half by none other than Eric Garcia, who once again started as the right-back. He scored the first goal for the Catalan team, as he pounced on a rebound from a shot by Ferran Torres.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard also talked to the media after the match and expressed his happiness with the win at a difficult stadium:
“Totally, I think it’s a tough ground against a team and a crowd that puts on a lot of pressure. It wasn’t easy; it took us a while to get going, but as the minutes went by, we started to feel better.”
The defender also expressed his happiness with the goal and highlighted why this win was important:
“It was about time (laughs). I’d gone a few games without scoring. It was very important, especially after the Rayo game, because Madrid don’t slip up and they’re right up there. The important thing is that we’re improving and growing.”
Like Ronald Araujo, Garcia also dedicated this win to Gavi:
“This victory is for him. Both on and off the pitch. What he brings us in the dressing room—his passion, his attitude, his fight… Hopefully, he has a good recovery and comes back as soon as possible.”
Hopefully, Barcelona will continue winning as they face more difficult matches ahead, and Eric Garcia will continue to showcase his importance for Hansi Flick’s side with more goals.
