Nottingham Forest fans have rallied behind Morgan Gibbs-White after his latest omission from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad. He also missed out on this summer’s World Cup despite a strong finish to last season.
According to Nottingham Post, Tuchel has selected a 27-man group for a three-week, four-game Nations League camp. It starts after this weekend’s Premier League round, and Gibbs-White was on the long list but missed the final cut.
For Forest, the 26-year-old has carried over his form. He scored in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, then delivered a superb second half in last weekend’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa. His deft flick set up Igor Jesus for the winner at Villa Park.
Supporters are backing him to make his point on the pitch against Coventry City on Saturday, 5.30pm kick-off. Many expect a big display.
On social media, fans voiced disbelief and asked what more he must do. Some branded the snub ridiculous or a disgrace, others said England’s loss is Forest’s gain and even joked about a hat-trick. A few suggested Tuchel does not favour his creativity, while many simply sent messages of support.
