Discussing the future at Trigoria isn’t easy.
The owners aren’t currently physically present, though they’re expected in the coming days.
Frederic Massara is an outgoing sporting director with little say in the matter.
In short, silence reigns at the Fulvio Bernardini club ahead of next season.
The Giallorossi are aggressively searching for their next sporting director, who will work closely with Gasperini to build a stronger Roma.
The list of directors is long, but the number of candidates is dwindling day by day. Tony D’Amico now appears to be in pole position.
Roma has set its sights on several sporting directors.
As Il Messaggero reports, among them was Giovanni Manna, tied to Napoli by a contract until 2029.
However, every passing day seems to distance him from the capital, with De Laurentiis having erected an insurmountable wall.
This is why Tony D’Amico is now in pole position.
Contacts have been ongoing for several days; Roma is trying to outdo AC Milan, which appears to be the sporting director’s first choice, having worked with Gasperini in Bergamo.
As soon as Dea makes Giuntoli official, D’Amico will be free to reach agreements with other clubs.
