FC Bayern are apparently discussing reinforcements for their central defense, with a German international now being discussed.

According to information from SPORT1, the Munich club are keeping an eye on Yann Aurel Bisseck from Inter Milan. There have been no concrete talks so far, but the German international is considered an exciting candidate for the summer.

The background: Despite the contract extension of Dayot Upamecano, the squad planning in defence is not yet complete. With Upamecano and Jonathan Tah, the desired defensive center of the future is already in place, but for the record champions‘ high sporting goals, they ideally need three central defenders at the absolute top level. This is precisely where those responsible see a need for action.

Minjae Kim in particular is under close scrutiny internally. The South Korean has experience, but repeatedly shows uncertainties in direct comparison to the competition. Should there be any changes in the summer, Bayern want to be prepared.

One name that has also been discussed recently is Luka Vuskovic. The HSV defender, who is only 18 years old, caught the eye with a strong performance in the 2:2 draw against Bayern and even scored a goal. However, he is considered more of a prospect for the short-term solution at the highest level.

Yann Aurel Bisseck has made significant progress. 25-year-old Bisseck has fought his way back from injury at Inter Milan and established himself in Serie A.

For SPORT1 chief reporter Stefan Kumberger, he is therefore a serious candidate. „If you look around a bit in Italy, Yann Aurel Bisseck from Inter Milan would actually be a candidate if Kim were to leave. He has battled his way back from injury. A defender who can establish himself in Italy is worth a look for FCB,“ said Kumberger in the podcast „Die Bayern-Woche“.

Prominent voices have also praised the central defender. Michael Ballack sees Bisseck as an important building block for the future. „He is at the forefront when it comes to rejuvenating this ageing team,“ said the former DFB captain, describing him as an absolute top performer.

Bisseck’s presence is particularly emphasized. Toni Kroos said in his podcast about the Inter professional: „I already noticed him last year. He’s a very good central defender who, above all, radiates something. You don’t want to play against him or not necessarily in a duel.“
