In a recent print edition, L’Equipe claimed that Tottenham Hotspur remain eager to sign Lille striker Folarin Balogun. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the United States talent in this transfer period.
Balogun enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign when he produced a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old scored 19 times and earned five assists in 43 matches for Lille last season in multiple competitions.
The United States talent is currently among the most talented forwards in Ligue 1. Hence, Spurs would do well to lure him to England in this transfer window.
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap this month.

Balogun is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The United States sensation can contribute by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team. Balogun has proven his worth as a decent goal-getter in Ligue 1. However, the jury is still out on whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to bring him on board this month.
We can expect Balogun to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years.
At 25, Balogun has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the North London club to pursue in this transfer window. He will also help the Premier League outfit compete across all fronts over the next few seasons. Hence, De Zerbi should focus on moving in for him before the end of this summer transfer window.
