Tottenham’s season hit another nadir last week as they lost at home to beleagured West Ham in a game dubbed ‘El Sackio’.

Xavi Simons

One of a number of injury concerns picked up against West Ham was star summer signing Xavi Simons.

The Dutchman was on the wrong end of a number of tough challenges from Hammers players, notably captain Jarrod Bowen who picked up a yellow card for bringing down Simons from behind early in the second half.

Simons required lengthy medical attention but went on to play the full 90 minutes.

However, the attacking midfielder was spotted limping after the game to prompt fears of an injury. He did not require crutches, but his involvement against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday is now in doubt.

Potential return date: Unknown

Joao Palhinha

Palhinha was absent from the squad on Saturday after reportedly suffering a knock during the club's final training the day before.

It remains to be seen how serious the injury is, but there have been suggestions that Palhinha had hoped to feature against West ham.

Palhinha was expected to partner new signing Conor Gallagher in the centre of midfield, so Archie Gray deputised and then picked up an injury of his own.

Potential return date: Unknown

Archie Gray

Archie Gray was forced off at half-time with an unspecified injury.

The midfielder was seen holding his knee before the break and did not re-appear for the second half.Yves Bissouma replaced Gray, and was one of Spurs' better performers in his first minutes of the season.

Thomas Frank did not provide an update after the game.

Ben Davies was stretched off the field during the 2-1 loss to West Ham with what appeared to be a serious leg injury.

The defender, making only his second Premier League start of the season was given oxygen and then carried off injured inside the opening 20 minutes.

Thomas Frank did not provide an update after the game.

Potential return date: Unknown

Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur has undergone surgery on a hamstring injury, ruling him out of action for three months.

The midfielder suffered the injury during the final moments of defeat at Bournemouth earlier this month.

He underwent successful surgery on his right hamstring last week.

Bentancur has been a mainstay for Spurs this season, appearing in all but one of their Premier League matches and starting in five out of six Champions League fixtures.

The striker has ruled out for seven weeks in another huge injury blow to Thomas Frank’s squad.

Richarlison pulled up during the recent defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup, and is now not expected to return until the middle of March.

"Richy unfortunately got a hamstring injury that will keep him out for up to seven weeks,” Thomas Frank confirmed last week.

Mohammed Kudus

Kudus suffered a thigh injury during the draw with Sunderland earlier in January, and has been ruled out until Apri..

Spurs’ worst fears were realised following scans, and Frank has since cofirmed that the Ghana star will not return to action until the March international break.

“Mohammed, unfortunately, is a bigger one to the tendon in the quad,” Frank said. “That is one where we expect him back after the March international break.”

Without Kudus, Spurs do not have a natural right winger fit in their current first-team squad, having days earlier sold Brennan Johnson.

Dejan Kulusevski

Kulusevski has been out since April with a patella problem.

Frank has said that the club will not rush him back as he issued an update on him recovery last week: “We know it is a complicated injury.

“If there is one person who can accelerate that [recovery], it is Dejan. The most important thing is to remove the pain in the knee. He had an injection to help that ten days ago.

“We will know in 3-4 weeks if that has settled. And when it has settled, hopefully, he will be on the grass and from there, we will see what is happening.”

Potential return date: Unknown

James Maddison

Maddison will likely miss the remainder of the season after he sustained an ACL injury during pre-season.

The attacking midfielder suffered the problem in Korea in a friendly against Newcastle, and has not played at all this term.
